Foil Casting Modification
From Wiki
Over time my foil casting - locking plates & arms became worn and need re-shaping to allow for a positive catch. I removed and re-shaped the hook with little trouble, but had difficulties removing the two screws from the foil casting plate. The SS and the aluminum had oxidized together making it difficult to remove the two screws holding the plate. I drilled right through these SS screws and replaced them with bolts and washers. There is just enough room to allow for the bolts when the bracket is locked onto the BFC.
You may also notice that I replaced the foil casting at the same time. The factory part did not come pre-drilled for these critical alignment holes. Drilling the BFC alignment hole where it meets up with a pin below the locking arm, was the most challenging. I removed from the BFC the alignment pin, and temporally replaced it with a sharp pointed threaded bolt (custom made by grinding off the head to a point), and seated it deep into the BFC. Allowing me to locate a center drilling hole on the new foil casting plate.
